Venice

I never did achieve a life long ambition of being tossed overboard a gondola for singing along with the gondolier, but I still had a great time.  This city is unique in many ways, starting with the means of transportation, combination of boat and foot.  There are no cars or other types of vehicles in Venice proper.  The streets are as narrow as sidewalks in the U.S. in many cases, plus the bridges over the canals are also very narrow and hardly look constructed with cars in mind.
