Daiman

Stern, determined but eminently pragmatic, Daiman is a nine hundred year old mage who has lived his entire life in Lithorin. He has devoted every waking moment to hunting and destroying the dreaded morikhuns who infiltrate Lithorin from neighboring Khadzar. Though he is only one against the hundreds of morikhuns, he has developed ways to counter their most devious talents.

In the story he is in the reluctant role of mentor and protector to Aleksandor as the young wizard is growing up. Though his uncompromising methods at times cause a strained relationship, he devotes himself to the task and is pleased at his protege's progress.
